Want to get involved with Literacy Volunteers as either a student or a tutor? Here's how:

Want to earn your GED or learn English as a second language?

We offer a class setting and also one on one tutoring, whichever best fits your schedule.

Orientation for students is provided Monday from 9 am to noon and Tuesday thru Friday 1 pm-4 pm. Please call our main number at (229) 391-2527 to make an appointment. If we are away from our desk, please leave a message with your name, number, and the time that you plan to come for orientation. This ensures that we have enough orientation packets for the day.

You can view a PDF of our intake form here. If you want to fill it out, you'll need to print a copy.

Do you have an hour a week to give back?  This may be the perfect way!

If you are interested in becoming a tutor with us, please call our office at (229) 391-2527.

Anyone with the following qualifications is eligible:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Complete tutor training or individual orientation with a tutor mentor
  • Have a current background check

After a little work....THIS COULD BE YOU!
