Who Should Attend Adult Education Classes?

Adults who did not finish high school but want to further their education at a technical college;

Adults with skills below the high school level seeking job advancement; and

Adults with limited English proficiency.

Classes are held in Colquitt, Grady, Mitchell, Thomas, Tift, Turner, and Worth counties.

Students attending the Adult Education Programs will not be charged tuition, fees, or any other charges, or be required to purchase any books, or any other materials, that are needed for participation in the program. (The first charge a student will incur is the charge for GED® testing.)

Is there a charge to participate in the graduation ceremony?

There is a $35 graduation fee (payable one month prior to graduation).

How do I get duplicate official transcripts or diplomas?

The original GED® Diploma and an official transcript of test scores will be provided to successful examinees by the Technical College System of Georgia, Office of Adult Education, GED® Testing Program. However, a fee will be charged for a duplicate or replacement GED® Diploma or duplicate official transcripts of test scores. Adult Education/ GED®

Education at Southern Regional Technical College moves with the speed of life, and we understand that life can sometimes change suddenly. Our Adult Education Program is designed for those individuals who need assistance with basic academic skills. Flexible programs with non-traditional classroom hours are offered so that we can meet the needs of almost anyone’s schedule.

Our services include instruction in basic skills, GED preparation and testing, COMPASS test preparation, and the English as a Second Language program. Classes are available at no charge to adults and are held in Colquitt, Grady, Mitchell, Thomas, Tift, Turner, and Worth counties. Please see orientation and GED testing schedules below.

High School Graduation Test

You can call the Tift County High School for information at (229) 387-2475.

Important Information About High School Graduation Testing

  • You must report to Tift County High School by 8:00 the morning of the test.
  • You will need:
    • A photo ID
    • At least two #2 pencils with erasers
  • If you are not a Tift County High School student, you will need to call the high school at 229-387-2475 and speak with Mrs. Seigler at least a month before the test.
